This time around, our Member of the Week is none other than our Greek Affairs Chair, Jeb Burchick! Check out Jeb's interview to find out about Pi Class initiation, the future of LKT, and Jeb's Movember campaign.
Q: Greek Affairs Chair is arguably one of the most time consuming and intense positions one can hold in LKT. What drove you to run for the position, and subsequently, accept it?
A: For as long as I have been in LKT (two and a half years) I have been extremely interested with the future of how LKT will be set up. This semester, especially, I wanted to make sure that by taking in the best possible class we can, we are guaranteeing a triumphant future. My goal is to ensure that each member of Pi Class is fully prepared to become official brothers of LKT and represent us as quality filmmakers, media producers, and people. I did this by emphasizing the extreme importance of production, brotherhood, and new member education.
Q: Pi Class initiation is this Sunday! What about this new class of Brothers excites you the most?
A: I am extremely proud of each and every member of Pi Class and what they have proven they are able to do. I was thrilled to see the new members learn and grow as filmmakers through the workshops and actual on-set instruction we had during Shadow Week. The way in which I set up the Greek structure ensures that we only receive the best, most well-prepared filmmakers and this class is no exception.
Q: Can you give Pi Class any hints as to what they expect from initiation night?
A: Be prepared for a night that you will never forget as bigs and littles are revealed and you are sorted into your houses!
Q: Where do you wish to see the future of LKT's Greek affairs going?
A: I would like to see continued emphasis on new member education so that each new class is aware of the history behind LKT’s great members of the past as well as present. Furthermore, I would love to continue the trend of the Outreach and Callback processes to be an amazing time of fun and learning for any interested member.
Q: As a Junior in the EMF department, you are starting to get into the thick of production courses. Are there any projects of your own that you plan on working on in the future?
A: I have accepted a great opportunity to be the 1st Assistant Camera on the talented Tyler Peterson’s Film 2, “A Mysterious and Sudden End”. I am also currently working on the script for the Halfway There Film Festival intro video for the program in December. Another fun thing I’m working on is a promotional video to be released soon for my Movember Campaign in order to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
